This year I decided to present my own automotive version of the Academy awards. I have identified 10 different categories in which only 1 car will be awarded an Orlove. Then, there will be an Orlove for the car of the year and another one for the truck of the year.

I decided to name the trophy after Mr. Raphael Orlove, prolific automotive Journalist at Jalopnik.com, a man that is really shaking things out in the automotive journo world, and an inspiration for many young journalists like me.

So let’s not waste anymore time and go straight to the point, but not before a musical performance for Sir Tom Cochrane !

2015 Best Luxury SUV : The Orlove goes to the 2016 Volvo XC90

Runner up: Range Rover Sport, Cadillac Escalade, Porsche Cayennne S

2015 Best Luxury sedan : The Orlove goes to the 2016 Cadillac CT6

Runner up: Porsche Panamera S, BMW 760Li, Mercedes-Benz S500

2015 Best compact sport sedan : The Orlove goes to the 2015 Cadillac ATS Turbo 6MT

Runner up: Jaguar XE, Volvo S60 Polestar, Mazda6 Touring

2015 Best pickup truck : The Orlove goes to the 2015 GMC Sierra Denali

Runner up: Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Canyon, Chevrolet Colorado Diesel

2015 Best midsize sedan : The Orlove goes to the 2015 Mazda6

Runner up: Ford Fusion, Subaru Legacy, BMW 320i

2015 Best Hot hatch : The Orlove goes to the 2016 Ford Focus RS

Runner up: Ford Fiesta ST, Ford Focus ST, Fiat 500 Abarth

2015 Best compact Crossover : The Orlove goes to the 2015 Nissan Juke Nismo RS

Runner up: Mazda CX-3, Fiat 500x, BMW X1

2015 Best economy car : The Orlove goes to the 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage

Runner up: Honda Fit, Ford Fiesta

2015 Best wagon : The Orlove goes to the 2015 Volvo V60 Polestar

Runner up: Volvo V60 (non polestar), Volvo XC70, BMW 328d Touring

2015 sport car : The Orlove goes to the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro V6

Runner up: Mazda Mx-5, Audi TT, BMW M235i

The Orlove goes to the 2015 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6

And now for the 2015 car of the year ...

The Orlove goes to the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
